God, our Creator

God created our beautiful world. O, it’s beautiful indeed. He also created you and me. When He was done, He said it was good. Genesis 1:31. “God saw all He had made, and it was very good”. Did you get that? Not just good, very good. He was pleased with what He had made-He then gives us the world and all its beauty to enjoy. Every single day we can find pleasure in His creativity and enjoy His splendour. There are many ways to worship God. One of them is to praise Him for the splendour of the universe. Every majestic mountain every mesmerising sunset, every drop of water that falls from the heavens. Wherever we look there is evidence of the greatness of God. His creativity is endless. Today, take a moment to acknowledge our God, the Creator. That might mean that you will have to stop what you are doing, go outside and look to the heavens. Acknowledge God as Creator. David’s Psalm might help put words in your mouth.
Psalm 8[a]
For the director of music. According to gittith.[b] A psalm of David.

1 Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
in the heavens.
2 Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
3 When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
4 what is humanity that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?[c]
5 You have made them[d] a little lower than the angels[e]
and crowned them[f] with glory and honor.
6 You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their[g] feet:
7 all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
8 the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
9 Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

At the same time, it is right to give thanks to God for creating you.

Psalm 139

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

God has created such variety in you and me, in the moons and the stars, in the mountains and the seas, such splendour to remind us of His infinite Glory and also to remind us that He is God the Creator.
